Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Member of the Board of Management for Technical Development at Audi said
The first time we were involved in the Electric Mobility Showcase in 2012, we gleaned valuable insights into how purely electric driving copes in everyday operation. We are now taking this involvement a stage further with the Audi A3 Sportback e‑tron, our first production model with plug‑in hybrid drive. Our aim is to analyze how our cars handle a variety of everyday situations, what the participants of the trial expect of them and how that squares with their actual experience.

The 40 plug-in hybrid Audi vehicles in the Electric Mobility Showcase are divided as follows:
Berlin will get 15 cars where Audi will see how cars are used to commute between home and work in urban settings.
In Munich, 10 cars without private charging points will test publicly accessible charging.
In Stuttgart, 15 cars will be used at private households and delivery services.
