Hey guys, I just got my new MY18 A3 e-tron and I already have a problem. I am not able to start the gas engine. The battery is half full. Is there a way to start the engine before the battery is depleted? I already tried the battery hold mode, but I had no success.
 
Any of the driving modes (other than EV) will use the ICE to some degree ranging from; occasional for Hybrid Auto, through mostly for Hybrid Hold, up to almost always for Hybrid Charge. Sport mode also mostly uses the ICE.

The ICE will usually shut off under low loads so long as there is some level of charge in the battery though.
