So, around town I was getting 90+ mpg with lots of EV mode driving. Very cool. So, we took our first big road trip — 2200 miles. 38.5 mpg pounding the interstate for much of it at 70+ mph. However, a couple of interesting things for me, at least. One is that with cruise control on, the car uses the electric generator to control speed on downhills and recharge the battery. Pretty cool. Also, we drove for 175 miles on the beautiful Natchez Trace Parkway — a two-lane beautifully scenic highway with a 50 mpg speed limit, no trucks allowed, and no stoplights or stop signs. 48.5 mpg. The seats were super comfortable. No wind noise. Lots of tire noise on some surfaces though. Overall, a great trip.
